Our Services at Corowa

What an Exercise Physiologist Does

An accredited exercise physiologist (AEP) is a university-qualified allied health professional who prescribes targeted exercise to treat injury, pain and chronic disease. Our AEPs are accredited by Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA), the national body that sets the standard for the profession.

Your first visit is a one-on-one assessment of how you move, where you're limited and what you want to get back to. We then build a plan you can realistically stick to, in the clinic and at home, and adjust it as you improve. New to all this? Start with our short guide: what is exercise physiology.

Looking for a Physio in Corowa?

Plenty of people in Corowa search for a physio when an exercise physiologist is what they need. Both are university-trained allied health professions, but they do different jobs.

Physiotherapist

Assesses and treats injuries, often with hands-on techniques such as joint mobilisation, massage or dry needling, alongside exercise. A good first stop for a fresh, acute injury.

Exercise physiologist

Uses exercise as the treatment itself. We focus on rebuilding strength and capacity over the longer term, which suits chronic conditions, pain that won't settle, recovery after surgery and getting back to work.

Kinetic Medicine is an exercise physiology clinic. If you're not sure which you need, give us a call. We'll tell you honestly whether we're the right fit or whether you'd be better off seeing a physiotherapist first.
